The
key individuals we are in dire need of information on are the descendents of William
Henry Rymill (born 1847 in Neithrop). He had had 8 children, being:
Florence Caroline Rymill, Emily Louise Rymill, Harry Rymill, Frederick James Rymill,
Minnie R Rymill, William Harold Rymill, Ernest Albert Rymill and Leonard Rymill
- all of whom were born in either Birmingham or the suburb of Aston. Anyone of
the line of this William Henry Rymill is brothers with our ancestor Frederick
Charles Rymill (born 1849) and it would be great to fill in the left half of this
Rymill tree.
Frederick Charles Rymill and William Henry Rymill have the
parents Charles Rymill and Caroline Rymill (formerly Caroline Gibbs).
There are no shortages of Charles Rymills.
Other parts of the tree we would
like to explore include the links to John
Riddoch Rymill of Australia (although this branch with its wine
connections may have diverged longer ago than can be traced) and in particular
any information on the areas of Banbury, Deddington, Neithrop
and Oxfordshire. Below is a list of the important dates we have found.

Connections
The
Australian links to John
Riddoch Rymill and its wine
connections are well documented. Another connection to be explored is one
to Virginia, USA. It is only a tiny link because the name disappeared due to marriage
but nonetheless it is one of the oldest references to the surname: Mr
RYMILL - Birth: Abt 1560 - Marriage 1 Spouse Unknown
One daughter:
Ann
RYMILL - Birth: Abt 1580 in England :Marriage 1 Thomas ROWLETT (b: Abt 1580
in Great Oakley, Northampton Co, England) One Son:
Jean Pierre ROWLETT
- Birth: Abt 1580 One Son:
Jon ROWLETT - Birth: 1605 in Great Oakley,Northampton
Co,England Emigrated to Virginia as an indentured servant between 1625 and
1635; no further record. Death: in Henrico Co.,VA, USA John
is known from a single reference, a land patent dated 21 Oct 1635. The patent
granted 350 acres in Warrasquioake County (now Isle of Wight County) to Capt.
John Moone in recognition of 17 headrights including one "Jno. Rowlett."
This means that Moone, a ship captain who made several voyages to Virginia before
settling down in the colony, brought John to Virginia at some time prior to 1635,
probably selling his indenture on arrival. John's arrival must be later than 1625,
since no Rowletts appear on the Muster of Inhabitants, a census of the struggling
colony made in 1624-25.
