Interestingly,
Hylaeosaurus was one of the original three animals used by Sir
Richard Owen to define the Dinosauria, along with Megalosaurus
and Iguanodon.
This
fossil is now in the British Natural History Museum. It has
never been prepared out of the stone in which its is embedded.
The exposed parts show rows of large, curved plates running
down its back.
