~ GREAT TREES OF WIRRAL

In October 1995 a Ranger was appointed to Flaybrick. Based on-site the Ranger's role is to manage the Gardens for the benefit of users, visitors and wildlife and help you enjoy your visit. That same year saw the name changed from Flaybrick Cemetery to Flaybrick Memorial Gardens. Using the many fine mature specimen trees already present as a starting point, the development of an Arboretum was a logical next step. New species of trees are being added every year, from Ornamental Cherries to Giant Redwoods. Many trees have identifying labels and guided tree walks have been introduced. Management of the Gardens is now carried out with a more wildlife-friendly approach. Self guide trails and guided walks covering other subjects are also available.
